Yes, you read that right, salty and sweet dessert named Khaja made from flour, sugar and cardamom is the king of the desert and even more so is loved by all.
Khaja is also known as Khajjaka has been believed to be originated from former state Oudh and Agra, and presently this dessert is served in many providences of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Orissa. It is believed to be one of the offerings in the Jagannath temple Puri and differs in size and taste from place to place.
Khajas from Silao and Rajgir in Bihar is said to be made in thin pastry lining sheet and the ones which are viable in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh are made of the thicker pastry sheet and is deep-fried in ghee until crispy and sweet.
