A similar incident took place in June this year wherein a 27-year-old man has been arrested by Pune rural police for allegedly impersonating as a decorated Army officer of Major rank. Police have seized various fake documents, medals, insignia, and so on from his possession.
According to police, the accused was pretending to be a Major rank officer of the Indian Army’s 14th Sikh Regiment. After verifying the information, the police nabbed him near Zilla Parishad School Khadki around 5 pm today. He was wearing a Khaki coloured T-shirt with the Indian Army logo on it. He used to pretend as an Army officer among his friends and had told them that he has received various Indian Army medals, insignia, commendation certificate.
