Xiaomi Mijia Handheld Fan: Xiaomi has launched a new small fan called the Mijia Handheld Fan. It is meant for people who want easy cooling while they are outside or moving around. The price is 199 yuan, which is about $29. Right now, the fan can be pre-ordered on JD.com. Xiaomi says the official sale will begin on June 10.
This fan is made for simple daily use. It is not a big home fan. It is more like a tiny carry-anywhere cooling tool. Xiaomi is focusing on two main things here. One is the 100-level speed control. The other is the battery life, which can last up to 40 hours on one charge.

Small Body and Easy to Carry
The Mijia Handheld Fan is built to be light and easy to move around. It measures 63 x 64 x 167 mm and weighs 260 grams. That means it is around the size and weight of a regular smartphone. Xiaomi also gives it a detachable shoulder strap. So a user can wear it across the body, hang it on a bag, or just hold it in the hand.
The company also used a sliding power switch instead of a normal button. This is a smart little change. It helps stop the fan from switching on by mistake inside a backpack or handbag. That also helps save battery power. Xiaomi seems to have made this fan with travel and outdoor life in mind.
Airflow, Battery and Charging
Inside the fan, Xiaomi uses a DC motor with a mixed-flow impeller. The company says this setup gives an airflow output of 250m³/h and a top wind speed of 8.5m/s. It can push air up to 5 meters away. That makes it useful for outdoor places like camping spots, hiking trips, or long queues in the heat. At full speed, the noise level is rated at ≤69dB(A).
The fan is different from many cheap portable fans because it does not just offer three speed levels. Instead, it has 100-level stepless speed adjustment. That means the user can fine-tune the airflow more smoothly. A built-in LED digital display on the handle shows the speed level and the battery percentage, so it is easy to check the settings at a glance.
Power comes from a 5,000mAh lithium-ion battery. On the lowest setting, Xiaomi says it can run for up to 40 hours. The battery has an energy rating of 18.5Wh, which stays within normal airline carry-on rules, so it can be taken on flights. Charging is done through a USB Type-C port. Xiaomi also says that a 10-minute charge can give up to four hours of use. It can even be topped up with a normal power bank while travelling.
Xiaomi has also recently added more Mijia products, including a backpack that fits laptops up to 16 inches and a compact 10,000mAh power bank with 22.5W fast charging.
