Pakistan right-arm leggie, Yasir Shah, became the fastest bowler to scalp 200 wickets in the history of Test cricket. Shah achieved the feat in only his 33rd Test match. He surpasses yet another right-arm leg break bowler, Clarrie Grimmett. Grimmett, who played for Australia, had held the record for the past 82 years!
The third fastest in the list is India’s spinner R Ashwin who required 37 test matches to get his Test wicket tally to 200.
Shah’s 200th dismissal came when in the third Test match between New Zealand and Pakistan, the Kiwi batsman Somerville missed out on a whipping attempt and got adjudged LBW.
The Test series between the two nations is currently all squared at one-one.
