New Delhi, April 6 (IANS) The Youth Congress came out in support of the Hindu refugee families from Pakistan, after they were left stranded without groceries and other essential food materials in Majlis Park area of Delhi following the nationwide lockdown.

Youth Congress President Shrinivas BV distributed the relief material amongst these families and said, “We are determined to help our fellow countrymen in this fight against the greatest epidemic that the world has seen in recent times. We have decided that we will reach out to all in times of their need.”

The Congress’s youth wing also launched a “Meri Zimmedari campaign”, which encourages the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) cadre as well as all other countrymen to take relief directly to all the affected.

The IYC teams, deployed across the country, are working to take this relief directly to the affected people so that every family has the necessary provisioning to battle coronavirus amidst the lockdown announced by the government, said a statement from Amrish Ranjan Pandey, National Media Coordinator.
