A television news anchor Radhika Kaushik, working with Zee Rajasthan TV channel, allegedly committed suicide after jumping from the fourth floor of a flat in the Antariksh Forest Apartments in Noida’s Sector 77. The incident took place at 3:30 AM on Friday.
Radhika was from Jaipur and had been living in the Noida flat with a colleague for the past four months.
The police reached the spot after a call from the building’s security guard. It has been ascertained that a party was going on in the flat at the time of the incident. The police recovered bottles of alcohol from Kaushik’s apartment.
The police are trying to determine whether the death was an accident, a murder or if the anchor committed suicide.
A case has been registered under Indian Penal Code Section 302 (murder) on a complaint by the family of Kaushik.
The body of the deceased has been sent for a post-mortem. Meanwhile, the colleague has been detained for interrogation.
