A photographer hailing from Mangalore was asked to cover the grand wedding of this year, little did he know that that he was being hired for Isha Ambani – Anand Piramal’s wedding. When he was asked for the assignment, all he was told was ‘zindagi ban jaegi’, without mentioning Isha Ambani’s name.
The 47-year-old photographer Vivek Sequeira was asked to book the dates from December 1-15 with his team of 17 photographers. They clicked an insane number of pictures – 1.2 lakh photos for all the wedding ceremonies put together. Also, in a span of a fortnight, about 30 TB of hard disks were filled with photos.
In an interview to The News Minute Vivek revealed that, “Initially I was not even told whose wedding it was. It was in June 2018 that this person asked me to block my dates between December 1-15, and send samples of my work. Soon after, I was confirmed for the event but the client’s name was kept confidential.”
The deal was kept strictly confidential between the parties. Vivek revealed that he had to sign various confidentiality agreements on photos and remuneration awarded before taking up the job.
“This by far is the biggest wedding I have covered in my life and it was no less than a dream,” said Vivek.
He was the winner of the ‘Best Wedding Photographer’ in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014 till he got this contract through one of his acquaintances who was a common friend of the Ambanis and Piramals.
