Mounting the pressure on Pakistani artists working in India, Zindagi channel has now decided to ban all Pakistani TV shows currently being aired in India. The Zee network channel was the first to syndicate content from Pakistan and air it in India.

Subhash Chandra Goel, Chairman of Essel Group and Zee Media, tweeted, “Unfortunate stance of Mia Sharif at UN. Zee is considering stopping Zindgi programs from Pak, as well artists from there should leave.”

This tweet by the Zee network head comes amid tension as the Raj Thackeray-led MNS has asked Pakistani artistes like Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan to leave India immediately, in the wake of the September 18 terror attack that left 18 Indian soldiers dead at Uri in Jammu and Kashmir

Launched in 2014, Zee network’s Zindagi became popular with Indian masses after screening various Pakistani shows like Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Waqt Ne Kiya Kya Haseen Sitam, Sasural Ki Galli, Noor Bano, Main Bushra and Jab We Wed.
