2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Facelift India: The facelifted Mercedes-Benz S-Class is officially set to launch in India on June 15, 2026, bringing a major technology overhaul, fresh styling updates, and the brand’s first non-AMG plug-in hybrid luxury sedan for the Indian market. Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the updated flagship limousine will initially arrive with the new S450e plug-in hybrid variant, while petrol and diesel trims are also expected to continue later.

The updated S-Class was globally revealed earlier this year, and India will now be among the first markets to receive the refreshed luxury sedan. Industry estimates suggest pricing could start from around ₹1.85 crore and go up to nearly ₹2.4 crore (ex-showroom), depending on the variant and level of equipment.

What’s New In The 2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Facelift?

Mercedes-Benz has heavily revised the new S-Class both inside and out. In fact, reports suggest over 2,700 components have either been redesigned or newly developed for this facelift.

New Exterior Design

The facelifted S-Class now gets a bolder and more upright front fascia with a significantly larger illuminated grille featuring integrated three-pointed star detailing. The headlamps are also been redesigned with a new tri-star LED daytime running light signature, while the rear lamps now carry updated star pattern lighting bits.

Mercedes has additionally brought in new bumper designs, fresh alloy wheel choices including premium 50-spoke Manufaktur wheels, and extra exterior paint shades so the whole thing looks more exclusive.

2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Facelift India: Interior

Inside, the new S-Class gets one of the bigger revisions in the luxury sedan space. The cabin now leans on Mercedes-Benz’s newest MB.OS software architecture which helps with quicker processing, better connectivity, over-the-air updates, and AI powered features.

The revised MBUX Superscreen setup replaces the older interface, giving a smoother digital feel for front and rear passengers. People sitting in the back also get upgraded entertainment screens, with built in apps like YouTube and Disney+ which makes the chauffeur driven vibe even more comfortable.

Mercedes has additionally added features such as heated seatbelts, detachable rear control remotes, and improved voice-assistant functionality powered by generative AI technology.

First Plug-In Hybrid S-Class For India

One of the bigger highlights in the India-spec facelift is the arrival of the S450e plug-in hybrid bit. This is basically the first time Mercedes-Benz will bring a plug-in hybrid S-Class to India, and not just as part of the AMG line.

The S450e puts together a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine with a 22kWh battery pack plus an electric motor. In total the whole setup is rated at 449 bhp and 680 Nm of torque. As a result, the luxury sedan can run from 0-100 kmph in roughly 5.7 seconds.

At the same time, the regular S450 petrol trim is likely to hang around. That version should keep the 3.0-litre M256 Evo turbo-petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system attached. Mercedes might also continue selling the diesel-based S350d in India, just to keep the range sensible for different buyers.

Safety Technology

Mercedes-Benz has also boosted the S-Class’ driver help and safety tech in a noticeable way. The facelifted model is said to come with a rather detailed sensor array: 10 cameras, five radars and 12 ultrasonic sensors, so it can support autonomous and assisted driving more effectively.

With that update, the luxury sedan is expected to gain stronger lane assistance, more capable adaptive cruise features, automated parking functions and collision avoidance systems that are tuned further than before.

Expected Price

The new S-Class facelift is expected to be priced between ₹1.85 crore and ₹2.4 crore (ex-showroom). Mercedes-Benz could locally assemble select variants at its Chakan facility in Maharashtra to keep pricing competitive.

Once launched, the flagship limousine will continue to rival luxury sedans such as the BMW 7 Series, BMW i7, and the Audi A8 L in the Indian market.
