Arvind Kejriwal announces ex-gratia of Rs 1 crore to family of Shaheed BSF

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal visited the family of martyr Narendra Singh in Delhi on Friday. After meeting the family he talked to media and said that he will call a cabinet meeting and modify a rule on providing ex-gratia to the martyrs’ family, as it has flaws. The policy will be changed in a way so that the family of Narendra Singh could get benefits of this policy.

“Narendra Singh has been living in Delhi for the last 8 to 10 years. Delhi government policy has a policy to offer ex-gratia of Rs 1 crore to the aggrieved family. The policy has a flaw that says, only the martyrs’ who have the address of Delhi will be given benefits of Rs 1 crore. However, there are a lot of families who migrate and come to Delhi and make their establishment here only for their living,” said Delhi CM Kejriwal.

Narendra Singh had joined his job in 1988. At that time, his permanent address was Haryana. Later he moved on with his family and shifted to Delhi.  Kejriwal also aimed at Prime Minister Modi over the issues with Pakistan.

“Why does Prime Minister not do anything? Before holding the seat of Prime Minister, he used to say that writing love letters won’t help in dealing with Pakistan. Pakistan needs to be dealt their way, so why does PM Modi not dealing them their way? If love letters won’t help, even cutting cakes on their birthdays won’t bring any solution to the issues prevailing. How long will our soldiers have to suffer? We want action,” said Arvind Kejriwal.
