71-year-old COVID-19 patient dies in Kerala, toll reaches 3

A 71-year-old who was undergoing treatment for coronavirus has died in Kerala and thas taken the death toll to 3 in the state. The man was a resident of The and was identified as P Mehruf. Mehruf was treated for seven days at Pariyaram Medical college hospital. It is still unclear where he got the infection from.

It is also reportedly said that Mehroof was suffering from kidney diseases and was a heart patient too.

On March 26, he consulted the doctor as he had a normal fever and has sought treatment at Tely Hospital in Thalassery. On March 31 he was admitted to the same hospital after he showed symptoms as he was facing a problem in breathing and was suffering severe respiratory illness. When his condition worsened, he was later shifted to MIMS hospital by evening.

Mahroof was confirmed with COVID-19 then he was shifted to Pariyaram medical college hospital.

The reports also state that he had contact with a large number of people and had attended some functions and that includes marriage, bride seeing ceremony along with his son. He further attended prayers at mosques too.

Maharoof also had traveled widely in New Mahe, Panniyannur and Chokli panchayats.
