7th Woodpecker International film fest to focus on social issues

New Delhi, Nov 25 (IANS) The Woodpecker International Film Festival (WIFF) is all set to come up with its seventh edition in Delhi.

The theme of the festival is “67 films To Know Your World”, aiming to create awareness around social issues.

From environmental challenges to human trafficking, LGBTQ, Public health, migration and, art and culture, the films will depict a gamut of issues.

“This year also, we have got diverse stories from different parts of the world, on issues that are of critical importance to everyone. Be it violence against women by ISIS, condition of Rohingya women, rise of Artificial Intelligence, excitingnew discoveries from the natural world or isues related to LGBT community, through WIFF wewant to bring them in the public domain,” Narender Yadav, Founder Director of the festival.

The festival will showcase several prominent films including “Ranj”, “Aayi Gayi”, “Coral Women” and “Womeniya”.

International films like “”Hell and Hope”, “Mother, Daughter, Sister”, The Wild Andes – Patagonia Untamed” and “Voices on the Road” will also be screened at WIFF.

The film festival will be organised from Nov 29-Dec 1 at Siri Fort Auditorium here.
