Air France on Saturday had reopened US-bound flights to passengers affected by US President Donald Trump’s executive order banning nationals from seven Muslim majority countries, after the move was temporarily suspended by the Federal court.
“Starting today we are implementing this court decision. Nationals from the countries concerned are being authorised to fly once again to the United States, providing their papers and visas are in order,” Air France spokesman Herve Erschler told media.
He said the American government representatives in Paris had advised local airlines they could resume U.S.-bound services for the nationals of the seven countries.
On Friday, US District Judge James Robart in Seattle ruled that Washington state and Minnesota had standing to challenge Trump’s order.
The executive order, signed by Donald Trump, had banned the entry of citizens from seven Muslim-majority countries- Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Libya, Sudan and Somalia- into US.
Around 60,000 people had their visa cancelled due to the executive order.
