The Samajwadi Party marked the birthday of its president, Akhilesh Yadav, with a series of community-focused events. The week-long celebrations, which began on July 1, included sapling plantation, ‘bhandaras’ (community feasts), and blood donation camps.
SP chief spokesperson Rajendra Chowdhury shared that the ‘PDA sapling’ plantation programme aims to promote social justice and environmental sustainability. Saplings of banyan, peepal, and neem will be planted statewide as symbols of social equality and conservation.
Chowdhury also mentioned aspirations to expand this initiative into a nationwide movement. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and BSP Chief Mayawati extended their best wishes to Yadav, highlighting the cross-party camaraderie on this special occasion.
