Alaska PFD September 2026: The Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) payment coming on September 10, 2026, isn’t the main 2026 dividend payment. It’s for people who are still waiting for a 2025 or older PFD.
According to the Alaska Department of Revenue, applications that were marked “Eligible-Not Paid” by September 2, 2026 are scheduled to be paid on September 10. The state also had a previous payment run on August 20 for eligible applications that had reached that status by August 12.
So, people waiting for the regular 2026 PFD shouldn’t expect their money from this September 10 payment. Their important payment dates come later in the fall.

The 2026 PFD is based on an applicant’s situation during 2025. The Alaska PFD Division says the first major 2026 payment is scheduled for October 1, 2026.
Applicants who filed online, chose direct deposit and were found eligible by the September 18 deadline are scheduled for that payment.
Another payment date is set for October 22, 2026. People who are found eligible by October 12 can receive their dividend through direct deposit or check. The state also says paper checks are scheduled to start mailing from Juneau on October 22.
People whose applications become eligible after these dates can be moved to later monthly payment runs. Alaskans can also use the state’s myPFD system to check their own application and payment status.
To receive the 2026 dividend, a person must meet several rules. The main qualifying year is 2025, because Alaska uses the previous calendar year to decide eligibility.

The 180-day rule has some exceptions. Certain military, education, medical and other approved absences can allow a person to remain eligible for a PFD even when they’re away from Alaska for longer.
The September 10 date is easy to misunderstand. It belongs mainly to older unpaid dividends, not the regular 2026 PFD distribution.
For the 2026 dividend, the key dates are in October. Applicants should check their status through myPFD and make sure their information is correct so there isn’t a delay in payment.
Alaska’s September 10 PFD payment is for older unpaid dividends, while most 2026 recipients should look toward October payments. Eligibility depends on residency, absence rules and other requirements.
