In another jolt to Samajwadi Party, its MLC, Ashok Bajpai resigned from the Uttar Pradesh legislative council, citing infighting. He also claimed that infighting is responsible for the party’s ouster from the power.
“I am deeply hurt the way Mulayam Singh Yadav was side-lined, and thus I am resigning. The party would have done better in the Assembly polls if the issue was resolved,” he said.
However, so far it is not clear whether he will join the BJP or not. Last week, SP MLC, Sarojini Agrawal had resigned from the House. Agrawal’s term as MLC was due to end in January 2021.
