The most auspicious time in the Hindu calendar in six years is around the corner and the Ardh Kumbh is all set to take place between January 15 and March 4 2019. A dip in the holy waters at the confluence of Yamuna, Ganga and the mythical river of Saraswati is told to free one from their sins and the cycles of rebirth. According to mythology, in a war between gods and demons, a few drops of the nectar of immortality had fallen upon four places, namely, Prayagraj, Haridwar, Nashik and Ujjain, making them holy.
