Supreme Court directs Uttar Pradesh and Haryana government to provide full protection to the witnesses in Self-styled ‘godman’ Asaram Bapu’s case.
Asaram, who is currently lodged in another rape case at Jodhpur jail pertaining to a complaint lodged by a Surat-based girl, who was allegedly sexually exploited by Asaram during her stay at his ashram in Motera under Chandkheda police station area. Her sister has accused Asaram’s son Narayan Sai of similar charges.
Asaram’s son Narayan Sai, also currently behind bars in a rape case, in January, moved a court in Surat seeking temporary bail to contest assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh which happened last month. Last year, Asaram has asked for bail from the court on health grounds which was denied by the court.
