Atal Pension Yojana new form 2025: The government has started a new registration form for the Atal Pension Yojana (APY) from October 1, 2025. This comes after new guidelines from the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA). The Department of Posts said that old forms will not be accepted anymore through Protean (formerly NSDL), which is the central recordkeeping agency for the scheme. The new form will make registration easier and collect correct data for everyone who joins the scheme now.
The government said in a circular, “In alignment with the latest Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) version, the existing APY form under the Department of Post (DoP) has been modified. The updated APY Subscriber Registration Form is enclosed herewith for immediate reference and action.”
The new form is only for resident Indian citizens, making sure that APY accounts follow international tax rules. All post offices must use this updated form and display the rules so people know how to register. The circular from September 26, 2025, explains that this form is needed for all new enrolments.
The Department of Posts also told offices to guide people and make the change smooth. Old forms should not be used, and notices should be put up so nobody gets confused.
PFRDA also changed the fee structure from October 1, 2025.
