Atishi has been synonymous to educational reforms in the social media space. Born to Delhi University professors, Atishi has been a successful student throughout her life. She graduated in History from the prestigious St, Stephen’s College, as a Delhi University topper and later pursued her Master’s degree in the same subject from Oxford University.
Apart from working in the education sector after attaining her education, Atishi had herself involved in organic farming and have worked with various non-profit organizations.
A longtime public policy reader, she chose to keep herself away from the 2011 anti-corruption movement, reasoning that, single-issue campaigns are ineffective. 2 years later, she was serving in the Political Affairs Committee of the Aam Aadmi Party. Party also chose her as their Spokesperson and have her confided with the responsibility to run as AAP’s candidate for East Delhi’ Lok Sabha seat.
She worked as an Advisor for the Education Minister of Delhi before she was removed in April 2018. Atishi was also entrusted with the responsibility of heading the Mohalla Sabha Project for the Delhi government.
