Atishi has been chosen as the new Chief Minister of Delhi. In a meeting of the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) legislative members, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal proposed Atishi’s name for the position, which was accepted unanimously. Kejriwal is expected to meet the Lieutenant Governor to officially resign later today.

Atishi, a senior leader and close aide to Kejriwal, has been serving as the MLA from Kalkaji and has managed key portfolios such as Education, PWD, Culture, and Tourism in the Delhi government. She is set to take the oath as Delhi’s Chief Minister later this week.

Who is Atishi?

Atishi is a prominent figure in the AAP and began her career as a social activist. She joined the AAP during the anti-corruption movement in 2012 and has since played a crucial role in the party’s activities. A trusted ally of Kejriwal, Atishi stepped into major responsibilities after Manish Sisodia’s arrest, including managing Delhi’s education ministry.

Her appointment as Chief Minister marks a critical turning point for Delhi politics, positioning her as one of the state’s most influential political leaders.
