In a shocking incident, a hospital in Bengaluru denied admission to the family members of a 23-year-old accident victim. The victim’s family alleged that he was not allowed inside Victoria Hospital on Monday for treatment. The patient’s family further added that they were restricted from entering as the guards and doctors at the hospital didn’t let them enter the hospital because they did not have enough money for treatment.

According to Bangalore Mirror reports, hospital authorities have denied the allegations and say the patient was admitted to the hospital and had received treatment. The people who brought Prashanta, the victim, to the hospital say he had to spend the whole night outside in the rain within the hospital premises after being denied a bed at the hospital. The victim was admitted in the emergency department only after onlookers intervened on Tuesday.

However, the on-duty Chief-Medical officer denied the allegations levelled by the patient’s kin. He said, “He was admitted on July 29 at the hospital with severe trauma after a fall from a coconut tree. After being given treatment at the hospital for more than 11 days, he was discharged on August 11, but as they could not get a transportation for the patient, his family member requested us to keep him at the hospital till Sunday and we agreed. He left on Sunday, only to return to the hospital on Monday evening. When he was discharged, they could not pay the total dues.”
