Bank Holidays June 22-28: Banks in India will not work as usual on a few days next week because of Muharram and the normal weekend holiday rules. In Andhra Pradesh, including Vijayawada, bank branches are listed as closed on June 25, 2026 for Muharram.
In many other places, the Muharram holiday falls on June 26, 2026, including cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Srinagar, Jammu, Kanpur, Nagpur, Belapur, Aizawl, Agartala and Bhopal. These holiday dates are shown in the June 2026 bank holiday listings and may vary by state.

The holiday stretch does not stop there. June 27, 2026 is the fourth Saturday, so banks across the country will remain closed that day. That will be followed by Sunday, June 28, 2026, which is a regular weekly bank holiday.
June 2026 also includes the other Sundays of the month, along with the second Saturday on June 13, 2026, which is another standard bank closure day under RBI rules.
Even though branch doors may stay shut, people can still use digital banking. Online banking, mobile apps, UPI, NEFT and RTGS remain available during holidays, so money transfers and payments can still be done without going to a branch.
ATM and card services also stay usable through the banking network. That means customers who need cash, transfers or payments should still be able to manage most routine work from home, even while branch counters are closed.

Anyone planning a branch visit should finish important work before the holiday days begin. People with cheque work, draft requests, locker visits or other branch-based tasks may want to do those earlier so they do not get stuck. Since some holidays are only for certain states or cities, it is still smart to check the local branch notice before going out.
