BJP Reshuffles National Team 2026: On Monday, August 17, the Bharatiya Janata Party, BJP, announced its new set of national office-bearers under party president Nitin Nabin, a big top level reshuffle in the organisation.
Among the more visible appointments, former Union minister Smriti Irani has been named as a national general secretary while former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia has been kept on as a national vice president.

The decision to place Smriti Irani as a national general secretary is one of the biggest changes in the newly announced BJP setup. Irani, a well known BJP leader and former Union minister has already handled multiple major responsibilities both inside the party and in government. So, her return to a core organisational post puts her again at the centre of BJP’s national political and organisational plan.
Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia has retained her position as a BJP national vice president.
Raje remains one of the party’s most prominent leaders from Rajasthan and has previously served two terms as the state’s chief minister. Her continuation in the national team provides organisational continuity while the BJP reshapes several other parts of its central leadership.
Another notable development is the return of Ram Madhav to the BJP’s national leadership structure. The former national general secretary has been appointed a national vice president. Madhav has previously played an important role in the BJP’s organisational expansion and political strategy, particularly in the Northeast and Jammu and Kashmir.
Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has been appointed the BJP’s national treasurer as part of the reshuffle.

The appointment gives one of the Union government’s prominent economic faces an important role in the party’s central financial administration.

The reshuffle covers several layers of the BJP’s national organisation. According to reports on the newly announced team, the party has appointed:
National Vice Presidents: 13
National General Secretaries: 8
National Secretaries: 16
One of the other big shifts that people have been talking about along with the reshuffle, is Amit Malviya being moved out from his long running role as the BJP IT department chief.
Reports say Deepak Mhaskey has been handed responsibility for the party’s digital and technology functions. At the same time, senior leader Anil Baluni is still in charge of the BJP’s media.
This reshuffle is also giving Nitin Nabin a fresh organisational team to work with, as he tries to consolidate his own leadership inside the BJP. The way former chief ministers, seasoned ministers, senior strategists and regional leaders have been brought in shows a wide more encompassing method for the party’s national setup.
