Muskan Rastogi Seeks Meeting With 7-Year-Old Daughter: As the sentencing of the bizzare Meerut blue drum murder case is awaited by the country, it is reported that Muskan Rastogi is trying to meet her seven-year-old daughter. This request has come at a very critical time since a court will be deciding on the sentence for Muskan and Sahil Shukla, who were found guilty of killing her husband Saurabh Rajput.

It has been reported that the woman has been making attempts to meet her elder daughter for the last three to four days. However, the child has not been taken to the jail yet so that she can meet her mother.

“They ate very little at dinner and breakfast and have not been sleeping properly. Muskan has been requesting for the past three to four days to meet her elder daughter, who is around seven years old, but the child has not been brought to meet her,” Senior Jail Superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma, said.

The news has emerged amid ongoing court proceedings prior to sentencing on October 14, 2026. Both Muskan and Sahil appeared in front of the judge via video conferencing on Wednesday, and the court asked them if they had something to say prior to their sentencing.

Muskan Rastogi Wants to Meet Her Daughter Before Sentencing

According to the senior Jail Superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma, the woman has made numerous attempts to meet her daughter. According to reports, the woman’s request has not been fulfilled yet.

“The first hearing took place, and both accused were presented separately. The judge questioned them about various matters, including the forensic report, but I do not wish to disclose the specific questions. The hearing was brief, both spoke to the judge and presented their sides,” Sharma said.

Court Questions Muskan and Sahil Before Sentence

Both Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla made appearances in the Meerut district judge via video conferencing from jail on October 14.

According to the jail superintendent, during the short hearing, the court asked both accused questions about the case including the forensic report. An opportunity was provided to them to speak for themselves before the sentence is imposed.

The sentencing process comes after the September 30 conviction of the two for the killing of Saurabh Rajput and disposal of the body. The prosecution demanded the death penalty in this case while the final judgment lies with the court.

What Is the Meerut Blue Drum Murder Case?

This case revolves around the murder of Saurabh Rajput, a former Merchant Navy officer, in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, in March 2025.

The case made headlines after the discovery of the killing of the former officer whose body was discovered in a blue plastic drum filled with cement and sand after it was dismembered by the killers. Muskan, Rajput’s wife, and Sahil Shukla were arrested for the killing.

Both were convicted by a Meerut court on September 30, 2026, after a long trial spanning 126 sessions with 22 prosecution witnesses.

The next major event is the court’s decision on the punishment for Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla. The prosecution’s demand for the death penalty does not mean that this punishment has been awarded; the court must decide the sentence after considering the case and the submissions made by both sides.
