BSP supremo Mayawati appoints Munqad Ali as UP party president

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Wednesday, August 7, appointed former Member of Parliament(MP) Munqad Ali as the party’s Uttar Pradesh unit’ president.

Along with Munqad Ali, Mayawati also appointed Jaunpur MP Shyam Singh Yadav, as the leader in the Lok Sabha in replace of Danish Ali. Ritesh Pandey, Ambedkar Nagar MP, has chosen as the Lok Sabha deputy leader for the party.

Mayawati backed the Centre’s decision to revoke Article 370 of the Constitution that gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Taking to Twitter, she wrote on Tuesday: “The demand to implement the Constitution’s ‘social, economic and political justice’ in the country by removing Article 370 and 35A, was long pending. The BSP hopes people there will get the benefits of the Central government’s decision.
