CAB Protest: Jamia Millia postpones all exams, announces vacations till Jan 5

All examinations have been postponed by the Jamia Millia Islamia for Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses amid protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act, CAB, according to the media reports.

Jamia Millia Islamia has announced the vacation for the students till January 5, 2019, due to ongoing protest against CAB.

Earlier, only the odd semester exams of Undergraduate and Postgraduate that was slated to be held on Saturday i.e., today have been delayed by the Jamia Millia Islamia in view of the tense situation in the varsity over the ongoing protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act, CAB.

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University students staged a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Bill on December 13, 2019.

Students at Jamia Millia Islamia University pelted stones and police used tear gas to disperse the crowd so as to dispell the protest. Hence, police barricades were broken after which police resorted lathicharge on students.

Students clashed with the police officers, who interrupted a protest march against the Citizenship Amendment Act.

The JMI students had called for a march to protesters to Parliament House from the university campus to express opposition to the legislation.

Around 2,000 students are protesting against the CAB.
