A new poster of controversial film ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ has been released ahead of its July 21 release. The poster is creative, strong and successfully conveying the message. After a prolonged battle with the censor board and sweeping 10 awards globally, Lipstick Under My Burkha is finally given the permission to release in India.

Produced by Prakash Jha, the film is directed by Alankrita Shrivastava. The star cast of the film includes Konkona Sensharma, Ratna Pathak Shah, Aahana Kumra, and Plabita Borthakur.

‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ is set in the crowded lanes of small town in India. The film essays the secret lives of four feisty women in look for a little piece of freedom. Though quiet and trapped in their worlds, these women claim their desires through small acts of bravery and stealthy rebellion.

The film explores women’s sexuality. It won the Spirit of Asia Award at the Tokyo International Film Festival and the Oxfam Award for the Best Film on Gender Equality at the Mumbai Film Festival.
