Chhattisgarh attributes rise in automobile sale to Nyay

New Delhi: Chhattisgarh has recorded second highest automobile sale in the country and the maximum sale of cars and bikes was recorded in Raipur. In June, 27,000 bikes were sold against 7,603 in May in Raipur.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Thursday after sanction of the first instalment under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, farmers purchased 3,000 new tractors.

The state also tops the states in terms of providing 100-day employment to MNREGA job-card holding families.

Chhattisgarh ranked second in generating employment against the given target. In the first trimester, 8.85 crore mandays employments were created. Till date, 55,981 families have recieved 100-day employment, accounting for 41 per cent the national total.

The state has achieved 66 per cent of the job creation goal this year. Naxal-affected districts are leading with completion of 70 per cent of works against the target.

“Chhattisgarh has emerged as an example in this time of crisis. Achievements of the state are not only the result of the government’s determination but also the discipline maintained by people,” Baghel said.

The state tops the table in minor forest produce collection during lockdown. It has achieved the one-year target within 6 months. Till date, nearly 1.5 quintals minor forest produce worth Rs 104 crore has been collected.

During lockdown, the GST collection in Chhattisgarh increased. The GST collection in June increased 22 per cent over the year-ago month. Against 2019’s GST collection of Rs 2,093 crore, Rs 2,549 crore GST had been collected, said the statement.
