Reacting on poll debacle in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, Congress leader and sister of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, Priya Dutt on Wednesday said that the party suffers from auto immune disease.
“Congress has shown repeatedly that it suffers from an autoimmune disease… Congress destroys Congress… We need to be treated from within to be healthy again,” former Member of Parliament Priya Dutt tweeted.
“We need to put our heads together and rebuild the party. It’s not about one person. This party has not been about one person. It has been about a collective,” she said in the backdrop of assembly results in five states.
While Congress lost badly in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand polls, it won Punjab with a thumping majority. Also, it emerged as the single largest party in Goa and Manipur but the BJP, which finished as the runners-up in both these states–has staked claim to form the governments there after cobbling up the magic numbers.
