Days before the much-awaited film, Indu Sarkar, hits the theatres, Mumbai Regional Congress Committee President, Sanjay Nirupam, has written to Pahlaj Nihalani, director of the Central Board of Film Certification, that he wants to watch the film before it is censored.

The film’s plot revolves around the Emergency of 1975, which is considered to be the darkest phase of the Indian political system. Earlier, some Congress leaders had also alleged that the movie portrays former Prime Minister, Smt Indira Gandhi and Congress leader, Sanjay Gandhi, in a negative light.
