Contractual teachers at multiple Kendriya Vidyalaya schools across India, according to reports, have not received their salaries for as many as past four months.

“The KV Sangathan has received reports against some schools for not paying their teachers timely. It is totally unfair. We are investigating the matter, and will instruct regional officers to inquire,” Additional Commissioner (academics), KV Sangathan, UN Khaware was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

“There are around 22,000 contractual teachers working with KVs across India.” Non-payment of salaries  “might have happened with some teachers. The Sangathan is totally against these malpractices, and strict action will be taken against the offenders,” Khaware added.

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is a system of central government schools in India that are instituted under the aegis of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). It has a over 1200 schools in India and three in other countries abroad. It is one of world’s largest chains of schools.
