Cop’s son drew smiley after killing mother as he felt ‘relaxed’

The son of a police inspector, who was detained for killing his mother, admitted during his probe that he drew the smiley on the floor next to his mother’s body as he felt ‘relaxed’.

The 21-year-old Siddhant Ganore stabbed his mother Dipali, 42, as many as 12 times with a knife last week. The boy also wrote, ‘Tired of her, catch me & hang me’ on the bedroom floor with his mother’s blood along with a smiley next to it.

When questioned why he did this, “He said it just occurred to him at the time,” said a police source aware of the investigations.

Siddhant left their Santacruz east residence on Wednesday afternoon. He took the first train he got from Santacruz railway station and changed two to three trains before finally reaching Jodhpur in Rajasthan. He rented a hotel room and was located by the phone was using, the police said.  He then brought back to city on Friday morning and will remain in police custody till June 2.

Siddhant told officials that he was frustrated with his mother due to fight over his poor academic performances and also owing to the constant fights she had with his father.
