Bihar, on Tuesday, has reported 2,464 positive cases of coronavirus. With this, the state’s total number of infections tally has crossed 60K mark. The total number of reported cases is 62,031.
According to the state health officials, 38, 215 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases stands at 20,921. The state’s recovery rate reached 65.71%. So far, 40,760 patients have been recovered from the novel coronavirus and 349 people have succumbed to the infection.
The doctors and other health workers are constantly being infected by COVID-19. On Monday, 4 doctors of Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) has been tested positive. With this, a total of 11 doctors have been infected to date. The IGIMS lab conducted 382 tests on Monday, out of which 49 were positive.
“We have asked officials attached to control rooms of Covid-19 hospitals to keep regular tabs on these parameters,” said an official.
Quick removal of bodies from hospital beds and wards, disinfecting beds, and initiating further action for disposal, are among the 21-point bare-minimum requirements of the guidelines. It also asked hospitals to issue a medical bulletin of patients twice a day for the dissemination of information to relatives and attendants of patients and also have a dedicated 24×7 helpline number.
According to the health officials, the declining positive rate is the result of a surge in swab testing. The turnaround happened after Pratyaya Amrit replaced Uday Singh Kumawat, as the state principal secretary, health, on July 27.
India is currently conducting 479 tests per day per million population, the Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday. “More than 2 crore Covid-19 tests have been conducted, including more than 6.6 lakh tests in the last 24 hours,” Rajesh Bhushan, Secretary, Ministry of Health said during a press briefing.
