Day 2 Box Office Collection of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani: The success of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani at the box office has been aided by overwhelmingly positive reviews and word-of-mouth. Taran Adarsh, a trade analyst, reported that the film’s Saturday earnings increased by nearly 45 percent from its opening day’s total of Rs 11.1 crore. This increases the film’s two-day earnings to Rs 27.15 crore.

Adarsh provided a comprehensive report on the film’s development and performance. He wrote, “#RockyAurRaniKiiPremKahaani saw a phenomenal 44.59% increase on Day 2… Tier 2 centres also experience substantial growth… Fri 11.10 credits and Sat 16.05 credits. 27.15 cents in total. India trade. Considering the outstanding trends on Day 2, #RRKPK is aiming for 46 cr+ [Nett BOC] during its opening weekend… After the pandemic, there were a number of cases of sluggish or nonexistent growth over the weekend due to negative reports… In this case, the growth on Day 2 and the advance bookings for Day 3 [at prominent theatres] indicate that #RockyAurRaniKiiPremKahaani has found an audience.

“Tier 2 centres have seen strong trends on Day 2, but there is potential to score large on Day 3… If Tier 3 centres also join the celebration on Day 3, #RRKPK’s opening weekend should conclude on a high note,” he added.

In the Hindi market, the Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh film had a 33.68 percent occupancy rate. While there is no competition for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani in Bollywood, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer continues to attract audiences. Greta Gerwig’s Barbie appears to be out of the running. This Friday also saw the release of Pawan Kalyan’s Bro, which is receiving positive reviews from moviegoers but will not have as much of an impact on RRKPK’s business in the north belt.

In terms of opening day revenue for Hindi films released in 2023, KJo’s film is the fifth-highest of the year. According to Bollywood Hungama, the top four films are Pathaan (Rs 57 crore), Adipurush (Rs 36 crore), Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (Rs 15.81 crore), and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar (Rs 15.73 crore). On Sunday, however, the film is anticipated to increase in popularity.

In her review for the Indian Express, Shubhra Gupta stated that the film “has no room for nuance or subtlety; every note is hammered home.”

“Karan Johar has always adhered to the adage that describes a typical Bollywood masala film – ‘this film has emotion, colour, and a lot of loud background music’ – but in his best films, he has managed to fuse those elements into his own individual stamp – an unapologetic cheesy aesthetic that goes hand-in-hand with moments of real heart that are designed to make us melt. However, in Rocky and Rani, Johar is depicted too infrequently. You desire large sets? Take enormous here. You desire lustre? Naach-gaana? Beautiful funerals? Extravagant mansions? It is all present. And you seek innovation? That is asking for too much,” the review stated.

In addition to Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Aamir Bashir, Tota Roy Choudhury, Chunni Ganguly, Kshitee Jog, and Anjali Anand play pivotal characters in the film.
