Since he was unable to pry the garment from her lifeless hands, he interred her alongside it. Gradually, a massive cedar tree emerged from her burial site. After hearing the legend during her visit to Georgia, St. Nino selected the site of the tree as the location for the cathedral. She issued the directive to fashion seven columns from the tree in order to construct the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral’s foundation. It is rumored that the final column secreted a fluid with the power to cure any ailment.
