Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone will not be participating in the much-anticipated sequel to the 2024 Telugu blockbuster ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, according to an announcement by Vyjayanthi Movies on Thursday.
The production company, known for the original Nag Ashwin-directed film featuring stars like Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan, took to social media platform X to break the news.
The statement explained that, after lengthy consideration, a partnership could not be formed, despite efforts during the making of the first box office hit. The studio conveyed its best wishes to Padukone for her future endeavors.
