Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal is has overruled Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s order prohibiting outsiders to get treatment in the hospitals of the national capital, as per sources. The LG has said that treatment cannot be denied to anyone on grounds of not being a resident of Delhi.

Kejriwal had earlier said hospitals run by the Centre would have no such restriction, and if people from other states come to the Capital for specific surgeries, they could get medical treatment at private hospitals.

There are around 40 Delhi Government-run hospitals in the Capital, including LNJP Hospital, GTB Hospital and Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital. Among the major Centre-run hospitals in the city are RML Hospital, AIIMS and Safdarjung Hospital. The Delhi Government will implement instructions — like maintaining social distancing and wearing masks — that the Centre and its experts have asked to be taken at these places, Kejriwal said.
