Delhi Metro Shuts 16 Stations: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation temporarily closed 16 stations on Wednesday after security was tightened for the CJP’s “Sansad Chalo” march. The protest at Jantar Mantar had already entered its third day, and Delhi Police also warned people to expect traffic trouble and crowd pressure around Connaught Place, Jantar Mantar, Parliament Street and Rafi Marg. Why the Protest is Causing Trouble?

The shutdown came as the CJP’s protest in central Delhi continued to grow. Reuters reported that the wider movement began over alleged NEET paper leak issues and marking irregularities, with protesters demanding accountability from the government and the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The same reporting said the campaign began at Jantar Mantar and later pulled in more supporters, including activist Sonam Wangchuk, whose hunger strike added more attention to the protest.

Reports said many passengers were left waiting at stations like Mandi House, while others had to change plans at the last minute and look for buses, cabs or longer walking routes. The sudden stop in metro service near the protest zone made travel harder across central Delhi, especially during busy hours.
