Congress Ramlila Maidan Rally: Delhi Police has granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the Congress party to hold a rally at Ramlila Maidan from October 25 to November 3.

DCP Central Delhi Rohit Rajbir Singh said the Congress had first contacted the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to check whether the venue was available during these dates. The MCD confirmed that the ground could be used for the rally. After receiving the venue availability certificate from the MCD, the party approached Delhi Police to get the required permission.

Delhi Police Clears Congress Rally

DCP Rohit Rajbir Singh said the police issued the NOC after discussing the event with Congress representatives and understanding the security arrangements needed for the rally.

“After interacting with them and understanding the security arrangements required, we decided to grant them the No Objection Certificate (NOC). We issued it today,” Singh said.

He added that the Congress would now submit the police clearance to the MCD, which is responsible for the ground. The party can then start preparing for the rally.

Other Grounds Available for Demonstrations

Singh also said that Ramlila Maidan, CBD Ground and Burari Ground have been marked as designated places for demonstrations. Other organisers or groups looking to hold events at these grounds can follow the same process. They will first need to check the venue’s availability with the MCD and then approach Delhi Police for the required clearance.

The Congress will now start preparing for the rally after completing the remaining formalities with the MCD. The party will also have to make arrangements for the people attending the event. Police and other officials will need to manage the crowd and security during the rally.
