DMRC update: Exits at Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhavan, Mandi House & Pragati Maidan metro stations have been blocked

“As per instructions from Delhi Police, exits at Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhavan, Mandi House and Pragati Maidan metro stations are blocked with immediate effect.”, said Delhi Metro Rail Corporation(DMRC) in a tweet at around 3 PM on Tuesday. They further added that “entry of commuters is allowed.”

According to the reports, the decision came after the police estimated of that 40K people were present in the area around Central Delhi today.

Sources reveal that due to heavy congestion inside stations, in durations the gates are closed for entry too at the four stations.

On New Year’s Eve, the DMRC blocked the entry to the Rajiv Chowk metro station to ease overcrowding.

Two weeks back DMRC had launched it’s official Twitter handle which in no time became the first-up source of information for the commuters.

With the official Twitter account, DMRC aims to interact with and address all complaints and suggestions of commuters.
