DU Financial Support Scheme 2026-27: Check Fee Waiver, Eligibility And Documents

DU Financial Support Scheme 2026-27: The University of Delhi has announced its Financial Support Scheme (FSS) for the 2026-27 academic session. The scheme is meant to help students who are facing money problems with their education costs. It is being handled through the Office of the Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW). DU has also used the FSS in earlier academic sessions to give fee support to eligible students.

The official poster said, “As part of its continuing efforts to ease students’ financial burden, the University of Delhi (UoD), through the Office of Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW), announces the Financial Support Scheme for the Academic Session 2026–27.”

How Much Fee Waiver Can Students Get?

Students will be considered based on their total family income. The scheme has two income categories and the amount of fee support depends on the category.

The support is linked to the actual fee paid and the maximum limit set under the scheme.

“This is a welcome compliance reform for resident individuals and HUFs buying property from non-resident sellers,” said Alay Razvi, managing partner, Accord Juris.

Documents Students Need To Submit

Students applying for the scheme need to keep their income and academic papers ready. DU has asked for an EWS/OBC-NCL certificate or an annual family income certificate for financial year 2025-26. It must be issued by the competent authority. A certificate signed by a notary or by the student won’t be accepted. An income certificate issued in the student’s own name also won’t be accepted.

The required documents include:

1. Income certificate or EWS/OBC-NCL certificate for financial year 2025-26.
2. Latest ITR of the father, mother, unmarried sister and unmarried brother below 25 years, if filed, along with PAN cards.
3. Self-attested undertaking form in the format given on the DSW website.
4. Bonafide certificate signed by the Head or Director of the Centre or Institute.
5. Marksheet of the last examination.
6. Latest fee receipt.
7. Bank passbook or cancelled cheque showing the student’s own name, account number and IFSC code.

Bank details belonging to another person won’t be accepted.

Who Can’t Apply And What Happens Next?

Students studying in DU colleges, BTech programmes except CIC, five-year integrated law programmes, School of Open Learning and NCWEB aren’t eligible under the scheme. Students who have an Essential Repeat (ER) in any previous examination also can’t apply.

DU said the date for submitting the printed application form and all supporting documents to the DSW office will be announced later on its website. Students have been advised to keep checking the DSW website for the schedule. The university’s FSS process includes online application followed by document verification and submission of required records.
