The Shawwal crescent, signalling the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Eid al-Fitr, has been sighted in the following nations:

– Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt, Kuwait and other parts of the Middle East. A few exceptions are Jordan, Palestine, Iran, parts of Syria and Yemen.

In the African continent, an exception remains South Africa, where the festival would be celebrated on Wednesday.
