A week after the first phase for Lok Sabha elections concluded on April 11, the voting for the second phase is all set to take place across 97 constituencies in 13 states on April 18.
The process for the candidate nomination had started with the Election Commission issuing notification on March 19. The last date for filling nominations for the 97 constituencies to go for polls on April 18 was March 26. The scrutiny of the nomination papers was held on March 26, while March 29 was selected as the last date for withdrawing nominations was March 29.
In the second phase of Lok Sabha elections, all parliamentary constituencies of Tamil Nadu will undergo voting, a big chunk of 14 constituency in Karnataka, 10 in Maharashtra which is to vote in four phases, 5 each in the states of Assam, Bihar and Odisha, 3 each in West Bengal and Chhattisgarh, 2 in Jammu and Kashmir, while one each in Puducherry, Tripura and Manipur.

The Election Commission of India on March 10, Sunday evening had announced dates for Lok Sabha Elections 2019, which are currently undergoing, with the counting of votes on May 23.
Voting for the Lok Sabha Elections will take place in seven phases across the country to decide on the 543 names which will go to the Lower House of the Parliament.
