According to reports, hackers have published messages from as much as 80K Facebook user accounts. In reply to the situation, Facebook said that its security has not been compromised.

It was 2 months back in September when the news regarding the breach first broke out. A person advertised selling personal information on Facebook, a database of almost 120 million accounts.

The claims have been examined and a cybersecurity firm has confirmed the breach.

According to the social media giant, Facebook, a browser extension is responsible for the hack. The extension is said to have been monitoring the browser activity of the victim.

It has been a difficult year for Facebook. Earlier, Cambridge Analytica data scandal came into the light and more recently some details of various Facebook profiles got leaked.
