Social media websites have been abuzz with offers real and fake during the Diwali 2019 season. One such claim of Honda “giving away” 300 Honda Activa 5G scooters has been circulated on WhatsApp with the link, “honda.com-cc.com”.
The message that “Honda is giving away 300 Free Honda Activa 5G Scooters to celebrate DIWALI” has been shared on other social media websites as well. The link and the supposed offer was found to be fake.
The URL of the website itself raises brows of suspicion as the official website of Honda is honda.com, while another official portal goes by the link honda2wheelersindia.com.
The website is apparently available only for the mobile users, as when tried on desktop, it redirects to a go6.co website, another fake portal.
The site asks generic questions and ‘gives away’ scooters to everyone who answers. Though, the scooters according to the website, will only be delivered after one forwards the link to a minimum of 20 WhatsApp friends/groups.
Hence, Honda is NOT giving away 300 free Activa scooters on Diwali 2019 and the message is fake.
