A tragic murder of a family is the latest addition in the list of crimes in Uttar Pradesh. The incident happened on Tuesday night, when a family of three members was shot by unidentified assailants.

The incident happened at around 9.30 pm when businessman, Sunil Jaiswal (60), returned to his house in Civil Lines. Media reports said that the attack was carried out by two unidentified men.

The bike-borne assailants shot the businessman, his wife Kamini(55) and his son Hrithik(25). A neighbour, who tried to interrupt, was also injured after the attackers shot him. Reportedly, the attackers fled with cash.

Police suspect it to be a case of robbery. However, no arrests have been made as yet.

“The people seemed to be resisting a robbery attempt,” Additional Director General of Police, Abhay Kumar Prasad quoted.

Officials also suspect that the murder was carried out by experienced criminals as the attackers had been carrying masks.

Locals also alleged that at the time of the crime they sought help from two constables nearby. However, they refused to offer assistance, as the area was not under their jurisdiction. Media sources also reported that the public threatened to shut the city if the attackers were not arrested within the next 24 hours.

The incident happened a week later after a businessman was shot dead in Allahabad.
