Festivus Day 2021: Festivus Day is a holiday celebrated on December 23 of every year. It is a traditional holiday celebrated hugely in the United States of America.
It serves as an alternative to participating in the commercialism and pressures of Christmas. This day is a secular theme for an all-inclusive December gathering. It’s a holiday that stands out more than the rest.
Festivus Day was created by Author and Reader’s Digest editor Daniel O’Keefe. He created this day due to his family tension. “Airing of Grievances” is one of the central practices of O’Keefe.
Initially, it was celebrated in February 1966, but later it was changed to December 23 on the occasion of O’keefe first date with his wife.
Festivus Day became so familiar with the famous television show in America called “Seinfeld”. The first time the day was mentioned was in an American culture episode called “The Strike.”
Festivus Day proves that human beings do not need any materials to be happier on holidays. They just need a good partner, jovial attitudes and lovely music to make that holiday better than ever.
Celebrating Festivus Day is very simple and easier to remember. Festivus is an alternative to the pressure and commercialism that causes Christmas Shopping. On this day, use the aluminum pole in place of the Christmas tree.
Then, put the clock in the bag and nailed it to the wall. Next is dinner which usually contains turkey or meatloaf on the bed of lettuce.
And then Airing of Grievances, where each person from the table stands and tells about how the world had disappointed them in that year.
Finally, the person who is the head of the household will call one individual from the celebration and challenge them to a wrestling match. The celebration will not stop until their opponent pins the head of the family.
Festivus traditions derived from the television episode and the original creator have been combined over the years.
Google introduced a custom search result in 2012 for the term Festivus with an unadorned aluminum pole.
You can purchase your own Festivus pole on Amazon.
A resident of Deerfield Beach, Florida, petitioned for a Festivus pole to stand next to the Capitol building’s Christmas tree and nativity scene and he won.
The Airing of Grievances hashtag has been used to complain about various issues on social media.
Dan O’Keefe didn’t originally want to include an episode about Festivus, but he was convinced otherwise.
