Former Miss India and actor Sonu Walia lodged a complaint with the Mumbai Police after she received obscene phone calls and videos.

She filed an FIR against unknown persons under sections 354 of IPC and other sections of the IT act at Mumbai’s Bangur Nagar police station.

The Bangur Nagar police have booked the accused under sections 354 of IPC and other sections of the IT act, reportedly.

The 53-year-old actor said that she had warned the caller on the phone but he increased the frequency of obscene calls. Therefore, she approached the police when she could not take the harassment anymore. She was getting the calls from various numbers.

“I finally decided to lodge a complaint against this person, who is unknown but my doubt is that he is from Pune. The police were very supportive and helpful. They are doing their best to help me out. I didn’t know there were such stringent laws for the safety of women. Now the calls and messages have stopped,” Sonu said.

Speaking to media, inspector Shirish Gaikwad said the numbers are no longer in operation.
