Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader, Santosh Mohan Dev died on Wednesday morning. Dev, the father of Congress MP, Sushmita Dev, was hospitalised in Silchar, Assam.
All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary, CP Joshi took to Twitter to express his condolences.
“My deepest condolences to @sushmitadevmp at the passing away of her Father North East Congress Leader S M Dev. May his soul rest in peace,” he tweeted.
Dev was a veteran political leader and a key member of the Indian National Congress. He was first elected to the Parliament in 1980, the first of his seven terms in office as the Member of Parliament.
